The Book Concierge was set up by Andy, who loves acting as a book concierge for curious readers; helping people discover books they might not otherwise have found.A lifelong reader, Andy has always enjoyed helping friends choose books they might not have found themselves and loves browsing bookshops reading recommendations from the book lovers that work in them.But it frustrated him that book discovery came down to either hours browsing in bookshops (great for some, not so good for others) or algorithms designed to be general not personal.
So the idea behind The Book Concierge is simple; members have books chosen with care, selected personally based on the readers tastes and reading history.

What if I've already read the book?
A couple of days before each monthly dispatch, the recipient receives an email with the title of your upcoming selection. If you've already read it, simply let us know and we'll happily choose an alternative.
If the membership is a surprise gift then we won't email about the first book but if the recipient has already read it then we will of course exchange it for an alternative.
Can I give membership as a gift?
Yes - membership is a great gift. Either you or the recipient can complete the three minute reader profile so the selections reflect their tastes.

Books are currently delivered anywhere within the UK
When will my first book arrive?
Your first book will usually be dispatched within a few days of joining.
What kinds of books do you send?
That is totally dependent on the reader profile - a 3 minute questionnaire the member (for gift memberships can be the gifter) fills in when joining. The books are then carefully curated to match the members tastes across all genres and styles.
How are the books delivered?
We choose the book we think you'll love and then source it from the best available supplier. Generally they will be sent in a nice package directly from us but occasionally it might come directly from a bookstore or from an online retailer such as Amazon. We do not want our choice to be constrained by any particular retailers supply.
Are all the books in English or can you do other languages?
For now we will only select books written in or translated into English.

The Book Concierge provides a personalised book recommendation and delivery service. Members (except digital reading list members) receive six curated books delivered over a six-month period. Holiday package customers receive four books delivered together.Books are selected based on the information provided in the membership questionnaire and any additional preferences shared by the member.2. Personal Recommendations
Book selections are made in good faith based on the information provided by members. However, reading tastes are subjective and The Book Concierge cannot guarantee that every selection will match a member’s personal preferences.3. Membership and Payment
Membership fees are payable in advance for the full six-month programme unless otherwise stated.4. Delivery
Books are delivered monthly to the address provided by the member. At present the service is available within the United Kingdom.Members are responsible for ensuring delivery details are accurate.5. Refunds and Cancellations
Membership fees are non-refundable once the first book has been dispatched. If there is a problem with delivery or a book arrives damaged, please contact us and we will resolve the issue.6. Changes to the Service
